this blog ismainlyandgenerally about the ugly misjudgment agains Metal music, i say mainly, because some bands here may seem -to some- from outside the Metal scene, but for the trained ears, the link is by a certain atmosphere or simply feelings... (quote of Kvitrafn)
because Metal unlike Rock music, can exist without a guitar or drums...
PS: there are many of my favorite bands that willl never feature in this blog
the reason is indeed sad and silly
And if there's one thing you will never see in this blog
their music is so melodic.. so gothic.. and the accord between the amazing Growling of Cadaveria (ex singer now) and the very atmospheric music is simply stunning.. i love the dark ambiant displayed with both music and vocal.. unfortunately Cadaveria is no longer a member in Opera IX.. and "M" kind of changed the atmosphere of the band.. Yet still,i like it better than cadaveria's new band.. for even she didn't keep the gothic ambiant in her band also named "CADAVERIA"..
so i guess that wonderful ambiant simply has something to do with the old OPERA IX.. here are some of my favorite songs: every single song with cadavria, i'm proud to say that, this band never disappoint me in any way, maybe because Cadavria left in the right time.. something James Hetfield should has considered many years ago..
now here's a category that i personally adore.. the Darkwave..
it is known by its dark, introspective, even melancholic lyrics and the most important, a very very dreamy sensitive ambient..
Anyway, my favorite genres in Darkwave, is indeed the Neoclassical and the Ethereal They are well known by the dark serene mood, the use of echo as sound effects and the vocals are usually meant to sound angelic.. such as soprano female vocals or bass/tenor male vocals which creates a surreal, dreamy, angelic atmosphere... so we may say that it's a blend of Gothic metal and Doom except it's much softer than both..
anyway, there are many bands that i simply adore such as: Dargaard,Hexperos,Dark Sanctuary, Artesia, Ophelia's Dream, Autumn Tears..
although i do have a favorite in Darkwave, the very amazing “Die Verbannten Kinder Evas”...
yet surprisingly 4all ignorants, the frontman behind "Die Verbannten Kinder Evas", master Protector himself has anotherproject,an Atmospheric Black Metalband actually, named "Summoning".
soif the man behind this serene dreamy music can get his musical ears to appreciate Black Metal.. then, i think the problem with BM haters, is in their small ears..
and one more time, Black Metal has proved itself to be beyond all triviality.. to be a very very delicate music despite all..
don't believe me ????? here isone of their wonderful Epic Black Metal songs,
i know this is a Darkwave article but..this simply shows how close genres are in Metal..
they are my ship to my overworld, where the sun never dares to pass the gloomy clouds, and the breeze is nothing but a sweet sad dirge, repeated constantly, by some lost roaming ghosts.. ah.. it would be nice to live in such place, until this hour, the closest place i thought to do fine, is Norway.. until 'Hoest' from Taake decided to make the mother of all messes, one stupid ugly mess.
well back to reality,
Despite all my efforts to correct the unspeakable misunderstanding and prejudice of metal, some narrow minded still dare to ask me why would I listen to a meaningless noise.. Unbelievable!!! (((And regardless of the fact that even Black Metal music is so not a "noise".. but let's face it, at this point, i know that no matter what i say or what i describe, some are simply cursed to live with their narrow minds for life.. and the truth is i don't even give a bloody damn for it's something beyond their small minds.. so if it still doesn't make sence to u!! Then it's a problem of retardation!!! Trust me !!!
another symphonic metal band Haggard.. perfectly combining heavy metal music with a very orchestral classical music.. their music is very glassy.. very rhythmical.. in some ways a bit folkloric.. and P.S. :they are 15 members or even more...
Therion's lyrics which are based on different mythologies, occultism, magic and ancient traditions. The majority of their lyrics are written byThomas Karlsson, founder of the magical orderDragon Rouge, of whichChristofer Johnssonthe leader of the band is a member.
And as Christopher said and I quote: “I think 95% of the people who buy our records have absolutely no idea what the lyrics are about [...] they are very satiric and they are very hard to understand unless you have already a fundamental knowledge in these areas. Written by a writer in history of religions, so it is a very high academic level! I think for the average listener it means nothing”
the photo below belongs to the one and only, Christofer Johnsson
Although, Therion was originally a Death Metal band... and before 'Christofer' decides to quit singing in Therion, he in fact had a pretty strong growling.. but to hear some say that they prefer one Therion to the other, is simply comfusing.. and not to mention, silly.. yes, here i said it.. Therion is still led by the same amazing man, besides, it just shows how flexible and immense metal is.. personally, i loooooove both genres.. i think Therion is a wonderful creation, just like the mind behind it.. a beautiful mind indeed.. the next video is "Pandemoniac Outbreak", a great song from Therion's Death Metal days.. Enjoy..
Now a 100% symphonic ,actually classical metal band.. Apocalyptica is a metal band yet they are only using symphonic instrument in their music: cellos... well the drums was added lately.. i mean take a look at Apocaptica's concerts: you will see how metal blends in symphony... yet they are only using cellos... the thing is, the accord here is not by music... it is by feelings... it's when the cello becomes a guitar..
the other day, i read a comment on youtube, about the classification of "Trobar de morte"... the guy said, and i quote:
""The music is awesome, it's my favourite Spanish band but... this is not Medieval Metal (in fact I didn't know 'Medieval Metal' exists), not even Folk Metal... they don't use electric guitar's riffs or solos, don't use battery, etc. They're just Medieval Folk or Folk. Even Celtic Folk. But not metal."":-#
the guy practically listed every wrongthingi talked about here..
now, if there's anyone actually reading this artical, she/he will know how silly is to say so!!! but since i'm talking to myself in this blog, and it's fine, trust me.. i'm too buzy to log in anyway..
this shows me that my blog is not the bright kind.. and i love it just like that. anyway, this means that i'm going to be answering myself.. cool..
so, "Folk Metal", according to the gentleman is a myth.. as he consider Metal to be only the kind of music with electric guitars and drums..
a flash news for all the unaware metalheads, (i feel like i'm repeating myself here..)
Metal is more flexible than Rock music, meaning: Metal has many many different subgenres, like Folk metal, Medival metal etc.. (for further information see my other articals) yeah right..
notice that, in this particular case, of Trobar De Morte, the genre Folk/Celtic is quiet enough.. the relation with Metal is not even by name, it's by atmosphere people.. Metal does not always include guitars and drums. nor growling. Metal is marked by one specific atmosphere, the gothic, dark, dreamy, surreal atmosphere.
that's why many bands in Metal use classical, folkloricinstrument instead of guitars and drums. it's the same art with different materials..
have you never heard the phrase: "Metal by attitude", yes, i just made it up..
most of the 'neoclassical side of Metal' fans don't understand the 'heavier side' of Metal.. and it's a shame, indeed!! since the musiciens themselves are usually involved in more than one Metal project, you don't believe me? how about bands like "Die Verbannten Kinder Evas"and his other Epic Black Metal band "Summoning".. or "Dark Sanctuary", aDarkwave Neoclassical band whose memebers had a Black Metal history like:"Bekhira"and "Black Dementia" and many, many, too many to be mentionning them all, IN VAIN..
although i find myself enjoying, i mean cursing both myself and Metal, when reading such stupid comments, the truth is there's nothing funny about it, especially when commited by metalheads..
the least to do, would be to think before you try to classify a band, or simply, don't argue about it at all...
thanks for making my Metal golding years much easier..:-#
and hopefully the last of Peter Jackson with middle earth... and i'm so glad it's OVER..
yes, Smaug is still majestic but the rest is not...
at least Smaug was the only decent thing in this Hobbit. and he was murdered before the film even stated, when the whole "desolation of Smaug" should be about Smaug, but then there would be no room for all of Tauriel's bullshit... my friends now understood why i left the desolation saying: why is Smaug still alive? abviously Jackson can't manage Smaug and the final battle in the same part, i told u so!
it's painful to write anything about this last agonising journey of the Hobbit, Peter Jackson has ruined one of the few beautiful things left for me, at least i still have the LOTR (that's what i keep telling myself)
and by the way, something tells me that Thorin is majestic too... but what i can't believe are people talking about spoilers, SERIOUSLY? at least be subtle, ja, Thorin dies, along with Kili and Fili, it's in the book, i know it's a minor, i'm such a nerd, i still watch the LOTR in weekends, and i didn't finish the book but i know that they die in the end,so the least to do would be to respect those who consider it more than a film in 3D... and it's coming from my own kin, my cousin, unbelievable...
Anyway, back to the miserable main subject, i really don't want to go through details here, it's sad enough to feel miserable before even seen the film, yes, we are still on hold for the Colisée here, but that's hardly the problem, since i'm seriousely thinking of skipping it, and spare myself the stomachache, i'm usually not this pessimistic, but when i thought it couldn't get any worse, la merde tombe du ciel, i mean in a vary happy mood, i would say the first one was good, but the second, apart from Smaug, the desolation was strange and painful, with all the rushed CGI to the malplaced Tauriel, but i could somehow live with it, i hated Jackson even more but i went to see the film 4 times, for the LOTR sake alone. but never have i felt this strange before.
the moment i saw the first trailer sometime in the summer, i wanted Jackson dead, but upon seen the official i was just crushed, i knew that he found a way to make this part even worse, in the trailer i could see how silly and fake some effects are, along with the fake skies, the fake trolls, the fake montains, and of course the dull Tauriel, i don't know how hard it is to make a CGI believable, but i think i can tell when the green screen is indeed a green screen, all that from watching the trailer, so in the end, it wasn't hard to predict how much this Hobbit will SUCK...
how fake is this Azog: it looks like a video game character...
and not to forget this extremely painful photo of too fake trolls, i even screamed when i saw this in the trailer, i don't understand how the trolls in the LOTR look alot better than the 2014 version, but of course i understand, one hobbit every year can be hard... but i managed to come up with something much more fake, although the smile is genuine i tell you, and how can he not? he is crushing dreams and get paid for it:
at least Gollum is not fake...
my only hope that Peter will stay away from the rest of Tolkien's books
FOREVER AND EVER,
i think this journey of three years in hell was quite enough...
so it's still watchable... i think... i'll watch it and report... ______________________________
i watched it and i stand by every insult to Jackson..
i went to see the HOBBIT: the desolation of Smaug... that's why i'm quoting Smaug in the title, (i loved the line until i learnt the film ended there)
i know i said bla bla bla, yet since the cinema was crowded, i guess i was the only one bothered by the timing, it was only late in my head...
well... i'm still waiting 4 the early projection to see it again (yes i'm that fanatic), but let's talk the HObbit through:
first of all, was i the only one who saw Peter Jackson at the beginning of the film? apparently i was the only one in the cinema that night who knew the director, but if i had seen him in flesh, i would set him on fire, why?
simple, because SMAUG is still alive, i don't know when Jackson is planning to kill the dragon, in the 7th or maybe the 10th part of the Hobbit, but the story doesnt take more stretching, and i couldn't believe when the film ended and the tremendous Smaug still lives, the book is only 300 pages long Peter!!! but of course i understand, how else they will drain us dry, and make more money out of passionate fanatics like myself...
but overall, the film was fine, except for the excessive use of digital figures, like the other orc whose name i can't remember...
however, Thorin was harcher, ruder, and more bastard than ever, and thus, more appealing and attractive than ever, (don't juge me, i'm into evil characters)
Bilbo Freeman is as always amazing, i mean Martin...
and my biggest concern was indeed the dragon, for i didn't like it at all in the trailer, but fortunately i turned out to be wrong, for Smaug was horribly beautiful, and Benedict Cumberbatch was perfect, although surprinsingly Thorin had a much deeper voice than the dragon, especially when he yelled at Smaug, so epic...
Thranduil was evil and very, very rude to Thorin, that's why i adored him in this part...
also, there was Bard, a new character, he in fact was in the book, not from Peter's imagination, i throught that the actor was really good, and i don't think that very often
i was never fond of Legolas in THE LORD OF THE RINGS, but ignoring the fact that he wasn't mentioned in the HOBBIT, he didn't bother me that much.
the new actress did however, Tauriel (who no one exept Peter Jackson knows where she came from) was as plain as i expected, i didn't mean ugly or untaleted, but she was plain for the role, she looked normal, almost as if she didn't belong to the world of middle Earth (when in fact she didn't)...
also i was bothered by the romance, seriously stop agonising Tolkien, Peter... the story will be torn apart... stick to the book... or in this case, read it again...
